KooKoo Teppanyaki and Lounge Bar

I was blown away the first time that I visited KooKoo Teppanyaki and Lounge Bar back in March of 2017. The food was excellent, the portions fantastic and our table even received complimentary egg that would fly across the table and somehow land in all of our mouths. The other theatrics were also extremely impressive, with lots of different tricks being performed with fire and the chef's utensils. So I was expecting a lot when I came back.

Unfortunately, my expectations dropped almost instantly. Near the beginning of the meal, while the chef was *trying* to perform his limited tricks (which involved no fire, or anything impressive for that matter), one of his sharp cooking utensils flew across the room from his hand at an incredible speed. This would surely have harmed anyone if they were unlucky enough to sit there. This wasn't all though. He had picked up the cooking utensil off of the floor and continued cooking with it in front of us. In addition to this, the portions of our food were no where near the size of my first visit, and the taste of what little food there was, was definitely nothing to write home about. A lot of the food was overdone and even coughed on by the chef, mainly the eye fillet.

If this latest experience and other recent reviews are anything to go by, I definitely would not recommend KooKoo Teppanyaki and Lounge Bar.
